Popcorn Tin Size Guide

The most common question we get is. "How big is that popcorn tin?"

Sometimes it's just hard to visualize the size of a popcorn tin and how many people that tin will serve.  Here are some guidelines that may help when you choose your popcorn tin.

In the examples below three (3) cups is one serving.  There are 16 cups in one gallon.

One (1) Gallon Tin - A one gallon tin is the same size as a one gallon standard paint can.  It holds 16 cups of popcorn and provides a little over five (5) servings.

Two (2) Gallon Tin - About the same size as the large plastic two gallon ice cream pails you can commonly find at a supermarket.  It holds 32 cups of popcorn and provides over ten (10) servings of popcorn.

Three and a half (3.5) Gallon Tin - About the same size as a standard waste basket you may keep in your household bathroom.  It holds 56 cups of popcorn and provides over 18 servings of  popcorn.

Six and a half (6.5) Gallon Tin - At the hardware store you have probably seen the 5 gallon paint buckets.  This popcorn tin is even bigger then that!  It holds 104 cups of popcorn and provides over 34 servings of popcorn.
